ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) -One condo owner says he didn’t know shots were fired into his home until an Anchorage police officer knocked on his door.

Jack Gelione has lived in the Parkview Condos in northeast Anchorage for roughly two years. Gelione said he works late most evenings and typically goes to bed around 2 to 3 a.m. In the early hours of Thursday morning, several gunshots were fired into the building from the outside.

In an email, a member from the Parkview Condo Owners Association estimated there were as many as 12 to 15 shots fired. According to Gelione, he wasn’t asleep for too long before he heard a noise outside.

“I kind of wrote it off because, you know, I live near base and Mountain View... So, I’m kind of used to hearing gunshots,” Gelione said.

When he was woken by the knocks of an APD officer, Gelione said he was groggy when he opened the door. According to Gelione, he never noticed the bullet holes until the officer pointed them out.

“He just kind of gestures over toward the window and he goes, ‘Yeah, you have bullet holes in your window and in your TV,’” Gelione said.

The Parkview COA said it filed a police report regarding the incident. APD dispatch confirmed they are working on the case, which is currently considered “misconduct involving a weapon.”
