HOMER, Alaska (KTUU) - On Friday afternoon, Homer Police responded to the scene of a collision involving a bicyclist and found civilians performing CPR on a man. They say he likely suffered a cardiac event while bicycling and fell, striking his head.
The incident happened near Glenview and the Sterling Highway in Homer. Sgt’s Dave Shealy, Taylor Crowder, and Sean Perry responded to the scene and took over CPR and utilized an AED. They were able to recover a pulse.
Medics transported the patient to the SPH ER. Homer police said had the civilians not helped the injured man, “this may have had a very different outcome.”
