ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - March is Women’s History Month and Alaskans are celebrating in their own way.

Sarah Preskitt with the Anchorage Public Library offered a handful of books written by female authors Monday in an interview with Alaska’s News Source.

The list includes:

  • The Tao of Raven: An Alaska Native Memoir - Ernestine Hayes
  • Painful Beauty: Tlingit Women, Beadwork, and the Art of Resilience - Megan Smetzer
  • The Queen of Fairbanks - Tricia Brown
  • Wildcat Women: Narratives of Women Breaking Ground in Alaska’s Oil and Gas Industry - Carla Williams

“Those are books we selected to kind of highlight in March for Women’s History Month just because it covers a really broad experience of Alaskan women,” Preskitt said.
