Man dead after collision on Glenn Highway

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a vehicle Friday night near the Boniface Parkway exit on the Glenn Highway.

The victim has been identified as 54-year-old Eric Black. Next-of-kin has been notified of his death.

Shortly after 9 p.m. Friday, Anchorage police responded to the Glenn Highway near Boniface Parkway after reports of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision.

According to the Anchorage Police Department, Black was transported to the hospital, where he died of his injuries.

Outbound lanes of Glenn Highway were closed at Boniface while the Major Collision Investigations Unit investigated the scene.

The driver of the vehicle involved remained on the scene and was cooperative.
