ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - The fin whale that washed ashore near Tony Knowles Coastal Trail in November will be moved and taken to a museum on Friday.
Volunteers, along with state and federal workers, collaborated to collect blubber and skin from the whale, reaching the skeleton. That’s according to James Grogan, CEO of the Museum of Alaska Transportation and Industry in Wasilla.
He said a building would be built to house the whale’s skeleton.
Grogan told Alaska’s News Source in March that he hopes the whale will spark conversations about the importance of marine conservation.
