ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Just a few days before the start of the first session of the new legislature, the last few prefiled bills from a small group of lawmakers are now available to the public.

While the newly-released list includes anticipated legislation specifically focusing on the state’s pension systems and education – as well as bills eyeing criminal procedure and law enforcement standards, among other topics – it leaves out proposals related to the currently-annual permanent fund dividend, which is expect to once again be hotly debated.

Reps. Dan Saddler, R-Eagle River; Jamie Allard, R-Eagle River; Calvin Schrage, NA-Anchorage; Andy Josephson, D-Anchorage; and Sarah Vance, R-Homer; as well as Sens. Elvi Gray-Jackson, D-Anchorage; Matt Claman, D-Anchorage; Forrest Dunbar, D-Anchorage; and Cathy Giessel, R-Anchorage, all filed legislation as part of the second drop.

The additions put the prefile total at 97 bills along with five different Senate resolutions released ahead of the start of session on Jan. 21.

The brief on prefiled bills published on Friday can be found here.

Full text of each can be found on the website of the Alaska State Legislature.
