Warm up toward the end of the week
Southeast expecting heavy rain on Wednesday
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Though the temperatures around Southcentral have already been warm—Anchorage was eight degrees warmer than normal on Monday—temperatures are expected to rise by the weekend, putting highs near 40 degrees in Anchorage.
The Interior is also looking at temperatures well above normal by the end of week with Fairbanks liked to be 10 to 15 degrees above average for the weekend, including the official restart of the Iditarod on Monday.
Southeast will see some rain today, but the larger storm moves in on Wednesday. Ketchikan and Petersburg should expect about 0.5 inches of rain on Tuesday but could see an additional two inches coming through on Wednesday as the next system approaches.
