D.C. residents talk about deadly crash aftermath
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - The impacts of the deadly mid-air collision between an airline jet and a military helicopter Wednesday night in Washington D.C. are being felt widely throughout the country.
At least 28 bodies were pulled from the icy waters of the Potomac River after the helicopter apparently flew into the path of the American Airlines regional jet late Wednesday while it was landing at Ronald Reagan National Airport, just across the river from Washington, officials said.
The plane carried 60 passengers and four crew. Three soldiers were aboard the helicopter.
Neely Allen and Amanda Smith spoke with Alaska’s News Source about how the crash impacted their community the morning after the deadly collision between an American Airlines jet and a military helicopter.
