ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Anchorage police say they have identified three bodies that were found inside an apartment on East 42nd Avenue on April 23 and notified their families but aren’t releasing them to the public due to the nature of the investigation.

The Anchorage Police Department is also now considering the situation a homicide investigation.

Police said in an update Friday that the deaths are domestic violence related and, per APD policy, the names will not be released.

The initial call was for a welfare check. Officers who arrived at the College View Apartment Homes said they saw a dead man through the window and upon entering the apartment, found two more bodies inside belonging to an adult man and woman.

In another update Tuesday, May 6, police verified the ages of the trio; the two men were ages 37 and 41, while the woman was 23.

APD says the investigation is ongoing but it believes it is an isolated incident. It says ultimately, the state Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
