ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center hosted “First Responder Appreciation Day” on Saturday, with a display of emergency response vehicles and meet-and-greets with first responders.

Visitors to the center had the opportunity to get up close to fire trucks, police squad cars, SWAT vehicles and more. In addition to the display, all first responders received free admission to the center for the day.

This was the first time that AWCC held a First Responder Appreciation Day. They partnered with local responders like the Girdwood Fire department and Anchorage Police, as well as the organization Anchorage Cops for Community to make it happen.
