Pedestrian dies in vehicle collision on midtown Anchorage road

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - A female pedestrian was killed in a collision with a vehicle that briefly closed down lanes of Benson Boulevard at the C Street intersection late Monday morning.
The woman was taken to an Anchorage hospital, where she later died from her injuries, police said.
Anchorage police said eastbound lanes of Benson were briefly closed but traffic had begun moving through the area around noon.
It was unknown at the time of publication the status of the driver.
